Hell for leather for nothing

The first workday evening of British Summertime.

Normally I would take Samuel to his swimming class on a Monday, but he was taken by a friend tonight, so I took the opportunity for a first quick evening ride of the summer.

With the sun out, I went hell for leather around one of my regular loops. Out from Tickhill to Braithwell, over through Maltby to Laughton (up Brookhouse Hill) then back via Firbeck. 17.5 miles in total.

I would love to one day do this in less than an hour – my best so far being 1hr1min36secs – and at the start I thought I was going really well. I went really hard all the way round (so I thought) only to get home in 1hr3min20secs.

Not quite for nothing, as it was great to get out but I will need to get a few more miles back in the legs before I will be anywhere near the hour mark on this one!
