Sunday morning ride
September 18, 2011 | 4:16 pmI went out for my Sunday morning ride slightly later than normal today, for no other reason than, as I was going alone, I didn’t get out of bed as early as normal.
Once out though, it had a lovely Autumnal feel to it. The sun is now lower in the sky at that time of the day but the colours of both the sky and the trees are beautiful at this time of year.
I thought I’d try a new route this morning so headed East through Bawtry and then out on the Gainsborough road towards Everton then off to Clayworth. It’s quite flat around there but with some lovely villages. We used to go to Clayworth as children. This is the village with Royston Manor, which used to be the posh place to go for Sunday lunches, but I’m not sure if it’s still open. I didn’t stop to check it out. I was trying to go as qucikly as possible, and reckon I managed that… averaging over 18mph for over an hour and a half. Pleased with that.
You can also tell that Autumn is coming when getting home. Although it was sunny all the way round, I got home and couldn’t feel my feet.
